Objects from Tomb T5 al Naqada

Objects from Tomb T5 al Naqada.
This was one of the largest and most important burials at Naqada.
In the middle of the tomb were 5 detached skulls, with a sixth on a brick at the Southern end.
A mass of bones lay on the floor in a heap and around the slides of the grave.
The presence of one male and at least 4 females in the grave, may suggest the sacrifice of councubines or servants to accompany the deseased....
Such a practice is attested in the secondary burials around the early rotal tomb complexes at Abydos.
Along the North and were steacked eight large jars filled with ashes of Wood and vegetable matter, with some animal bones. One jar preserved a layer of vegetable matter on top of the ash, perhaps a beer offering. At the Sourthern en were wavy- handle jars.
