This
representation of the goddess Maat comes from the exterior of the
underside of a mummiform wooden coffin. The representation is bordered
by a multicoloured ornamental band. The goddess is facing right with her
arms hanging beside her body. On her head is an ostrich feather in
front of a sun disc. Maat is wearing a broad collar and bracelets. The
style of the representation is that of the early Ptolemaic Period.
Characteristic is the elegant voluptuousness of the female form, shown
by the clear double chin, and a certain affected longness of the limbs.
