Magic ivory plaquette
This piece comes from Nubia, but calls to mind Middle Kingdom magic ivories carved in Egypt. Not much is known about their usage. Their curved shape and the deities depicted on them make some authors think that they were used during labour, to overcome possible adversities. Madrid's fragment shows snakes, a vulture and a crocodile.
