BERNAD Paul Badham
A stela (plural stelas or stelæ, from Latin) is a stone or wooden slab, generally taller than it is wide, erected as a monument, very often for funerary or commemorative purposes. Stelae may be used for government notices or as territorial markers to mark borders or delineate land ownership. They very often have texts and may have decoration. This ornamentation may be inscribed, carved in relief (bas, high, etc.), or painted onto the slab. These work books come in two forms: a Reading & Answer Work Book which contains the full translations of ancient Egyptian texts and a Student Work Book which contains the hierogyphic text and Egyptian phonetic translation, thus allowing the student to practice their skills of translation using a hieroglyphic dictionary. The Student Work Book contains the blank spaces for the student to write their answers which can be checked using the Reading & Answer book.
