Mastaba of Seped-Hotep
Saqqara became important as a royal necropolis in the 3rd Dynasty and again after Giza's rise during 4th Dynasty.
This official lived during the 5th Dynasty during the reign of Menkauhor and half of Djedkare-Isesi. The tomb was discovered by Auguste Mariette in the mid 19th century.
Seped-Hotep is wearing a pleated kilt, the usekh-collar and a necklace with an amulet. He is holding the Medu-staff and the Sekhem-sceptre.
