A young noble head
This attractive head of a nameless young noble (his title is preserved at the top of the back pillar) probably dates to the end of the 18th Dynasty, to the time of Horemheb. He wears an immaculate wig with gently wavy curls, with two underlying flaps of thicker curls which frame the cheeks and neck as far as the shoulders. The face has gentle features, a delicately modelled mouth, fleshy eyelids, and a somewhat melancholic gaze reminiscent of Amarna art.
