This small figurine of limestone comes from the excavations of D. Randall-Mac Iver and A. Mace at Abydos at the beginning of the 20th century. It depicts a woman sitting on the floor and playing the harp. The figurines of harpists, which are already known from the Old Kingdom, are rather rare in egyptian statuary. The Brussels piece probably dates from the New Kingdom. ABYDOS inventory number E.0262 KMKG - MRAH D. Randall-Mac Iver et A. Mace, El Amrah and Abydos 1899- 1901, Londres 1902, 87 et pl.
