Statue of Queen Meritamun

Found at Thebes, this limestone bust was attributed to Meritamun, the daughter of Ramesses the Second. After her mother's death, she became the royal queen and wife.

Meritamun was also a priestess for the goddess Hathor, as well as a player of the sistrum rattle of Mut and the Menat necklace of Hathor, which she holds in her left hand.

Her wig and the details of her softened face are finely carved
